Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns Amid NEET Controversy and Nationwide Student Protests

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned from his post amid mounting political pressure and nationwide student protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. He submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The resignation follows weeks of demonstrations by students and opposition parties demanding accountability for alleged examination paper leaks and other irregularities. Protests held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and in several states had intensified, placing increasing pressure on the Central Government.

Pradhan also shared his resignation letter on the social media platform X, stating that the interests of students and the unity and integrity of the country remained his highest priorities.

“I have resigned to ensure that the country’s unity and integrity remain protected, that no innocent student’s future becomes trapped in legal complications, and that no anti-national force is allowed to take undue advantage of the situation.”
