India Beat Pakistan by 19 Runs to Win Asian Games 2026 Cricket Gold
Nisshin, Japan, October 3, 2026: India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the men’s T20 cricket final at Korogi Sports Park, successfully defending their Asian Games gold medal.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, India posted 211 runs. Abhishek Sharma provided an explosive start with 61 off 28 balls, including seven sixes, while Tilak Varma’s late half-century helped India set a challenging target.
Pakistan remained in contention through a brisk half-century from Hasan Nawaz. However, India held their nerve in the closing overs, with Jasprit Bumrah’s penultimate over leaving Pakistan needing 33 runs from the final six deliveries. Pakistan ultimately fell 19 runs short.
The victory secured gold for India and silver for Pakistan, completing another successful Asian Games campaign for the Indian men’s cricket team.
