Devotees Bid Farewell to Sant Ramesh Baba as “Radhe-Radhe” Chants Echo Through Barsana
Barsana/Mathura: Devotees gathered in Barsana on Wednesday to bid an emotional farewell to revered Braj saint and Padma Shri recipient Ramesh Baba Maharaj. His final procession followed the circumambulation route around Brahmanchal Hill, with residents and followers offering flowers along the way.
Chants of “Radhe-Radhe” echoed through the streets as the decorated bier moved through Barsana. Devotees showered flower petals on the procession and paid their final respects. Following the procession, rituals for his last rites began at Mataji Gaushala.
Ramesh Baba dedicated his life to caring for cows, preserving Braj’s cultural and spiritual heritage, and protecting the environment. Mataji Gaushala, established under his guidance, provides shelter and care for thousands of cattle. He received the Padma Shri in 2019 in recognition of his contribution to social service and animal welfare.
His passing has brought grief to followers across the region, where his work connected spiritual devotion with service to animals and the environment.
Meanwhile, daily aarti, devotional singing and cow-care activities continue at Maan Mandir. Devotees continue to visit the ashram, while preparations are underway to carry forward his service initiatives and preserve the traditions he nurtured.
